Tulsa holding drug take-back event

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The city of Tulsa is sponsoring a drug take-back day next week.

The public will have the chance to get rid of potentially dangerous, expired, unused or unwanted medications on Oct. 26. Residents can take the drugs to three locations throughout the city.

The service is free and anonymous.

Law enforcement officials will be on hand and all medications will be taken to an incinerator for disposal.

Organizers say the take-back events address a public safety issue because unused medicines that stay in homes are highly susceptible to misuse and abuse.
