PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The first flu has been reported in South Dakota for the season.
The Department of Health says three influenza cases have been detected. A case of influenza B was reported in a Minnehaha County resident in their 70s. Influenza A was reported in a Davison County child under the age of 10 and someone from Minnehaha County their 30s. None were hospitalized.
The state says an annual flu shot is the best way to prevent it.
