WICHITA, Kansas – As groups across the country gathered to peacefully protest abortion, hundreds in towns across Kansas did the same.
Close to 400 people gathered at Central and Rock on Sunday afternoon for a “Life Chain” event.
The rally and prayer vigil is held every year on the first Sunday in October.
Those participating Sunday said they saw a lot of support.
“It kept everyone engaged and their spirits up,” said Wendy Johnson. “To have people giving us the thumbs up sign and honks and waves and smiles. So that really added to the excitement of the day too.”
The “Life Chain” was just one of six vigils in Wichita.
More than 70 rallies took place statewide.
