NJ Villanova student died of alcohol poisoning

RADNOR, Pa. (AP) — A Villanova student found dead in a dormitory room in August was killed by alcohol poisoning.

Radnor police Lt. Andy Block said authorities believe 18-year-old Kinara Patel died overnight after spending the night out with friends in Bryn Mawr.

An autopsy report released by the Delaware County medical examiner’s office says tests show Patel died from a “lethal quantity of alcohol.”

Patel was a business major who previously attended the Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, N.J.

Patel had just begun her sophomore year when she was found dead in a room in Sullivan Hall about 10 a.m. Aug. 29. The co-ed dorm is reserved for 400 sophomore students.
