Huntsville host prescription drug take-back

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Huntsville officials are hosting a prescription drug take-back program to prevent drug abuse.

Huntsville and Madison County police and government agencies will hold the event on Oct. 12.

Residents can drop off unused or expired drugs at the Jaycee Building in Huntsville, Flint River Baptist Church and Madison City Hall.

AL.com (http://bit.ly/GECxym ) reports that the goal is to prevent those unused drugs from being abused or contaminating the water supply when residents improperly dispose of them in the sewage system.
