JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — A broker working to enroll Alaskans in insurance plans via a new online marketplace reports it’s still running into technical problems.
Tyann Boling is the chief operating officer for Enroll Alaska.
She said late Thursday morning that agents were still running into “functionality difficulties” with the government-run website.
She said her group has received plan information from the insurance companies. Enroll Alaska is talking with individuals about their choices and potential for getting income-based subsidies to help with costs.
She says her group has a large backlog of individuals interested in signing up and agents are scheduling follow-up appointments with them.
The online marketplace went live Tuesday, and glitches were expected. Officials urged patience, noting open enrollment runs through March.
