NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Authorities are investigating a fire at an assisted living-senior facility in Norfolk that sent five people to the hospital.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Julian Williamson tells media outlets that the victims are being evaluated for smoke inhalation.

Emergency crews rescued three other residents.

The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Place.

Williamson says the fire appears to have been contained to one apartment in the three-story building.
