GREENWOOD COUNTY, Kansas – Authorities continue to search for a suspect in a murder near Eureka.

They believe Kevin Robert Welsh shot his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend, her 52-year-old mother and her 54-year-old stepfather.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of 130th near Eureka after a burglary.

When deputies arrived, they found the bodies of the older man and woman.

The younger woman who was shot had tried to go for help in a car but crashed. She is in critical condition in a Wichita hospital.

On Thursday afternoon, authorities  surrounded a home outside of Toronto where Welsh was believed to be.

SWAT members went inside and did not find him.

Thursday evening, officers searched the suspect’s mother’s house in Eureka and didn’t find him.

The 2007 Ford Explorer, which law enforcement was seeking, was found abandoned in eastern Greenwood County.

Authorities say Welsh is armed and dangerous.

If someone believes they have information on his whereabouts, they are asked to call the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office at 620-583-5568.
