GARDEN PLAIN, Kansas – A motorcyclist is in critical condition after hitting two deer south of Garden Plain.

It happened in the 3200 block of South 295th street West, south of Highway 54.

The 43-year-old Cheney man was transported via EagleMed to St. Francis Hospital.

Officials say as we enter fall you want to be extra careful.

“As the deer start moving around, it gets dark earlier. People are still out and the deer are moving, so we always see an increase from this point on forward into winter when the deer are moving around,” said Capt. Michael Stover, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities advise drivers to use extra caution.
