Wichita crews respond to house fire

WICHITA, Kansas — A fire broke out in the 2000 block of south Elpyco shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday evening.

As of 9:30 the fire was under control.

Reports say the fire started in a back bedroom of the home. No one was home at the time, but three dogs were in the house. Two of them did not make it.

It’s estimated the fire did $50,000 to $60,000 in damages.
