WICHITA, Kansas — A fight between two girls at Southeast High School in Wichita received a lot of attention Friday after an officer in trouble call was initiated.

The fight was between two students and the police officer was never in trouble according to USD 259 spokesperson, Susan Arensman.

School staff and a school resource officer responded to the fight in a noisy school hallway. When the officer didn’t respond when dispatch checked in with him, an officer in trouble call was initiated, prompting a swift response by other officers in the area.

One of the girls suffered an injury to her head in the fight and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The school district reports the incident was handled within 15 minutes.

Both girls face disciplinary action.
