The Kingman City Commission approved Sunday alcohol sales Thursday night in a 3-2 vote.

There is opposition to the plan and some have already asked how to start petition drives against it. Those opponents will have 60 days to collect the signatures. If they don’t succeed, the Sunday alcohol sales will begin in 60 days.

Kingman City Manager Frank Soukup said opponents will need to collect enough signatures to equal five percent of the votes cast in the last presidential election, though he wasn’t sure what that number was when we spoke with him.
