Film about woman fighting cancer screens in Mich.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A documentary about a woman who is battling breast cancer is set to screen at a theater in suburban Detroit.

Jill Brzezinski-Conley has undergone 16 rounds of chemotherapy, 33 radiation treatments and five surgeries since her initial diagnosis in 2009.

The former resident of Canton Township, Mich., has formed a nonprofit called Jill’s Wish Foundation, whose goal is to minimize the financial burden for cancer patients and their families.

A theater in Brzezinski-Conley’s hometown, Emagine Canton, is hosting a screening of “The Light That Shines” on Thursday. All proceeds will benefit Jill’s Wish Foundation.

An Australian photographer heard about Brzezinski-Conley’s story, flew her to Paris for a photo shoot and helped create the documentary that’s to be shown on Thursday.
