NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Two mosquito-borne diseases have been confirmed in chickens in Norfolk.

The Norfolk Department of Public Health tells media outlets that two sentinel chickens tested positive for West Nile Virus. Another tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

The department says the chickens infected with West Nile were in the Ballentine Place community. The other chicken was near Old Dominion University.

City officials plan to begin fogging these areas on Friday morning.
