Two arrested after several thefts near Haysville

HAYSVILLE, Kansas – A 35-year-old Haysville woman and a 19-year-old Mulvane man was arrested for several thefts.

The arrests occurred early Sunday morning in the 8100 block of South Victoria Street.

Haysville police located the suspect vehicle in the area.

It was occupied by two women and one man.

Deputies recovered a purse that had been stolen in the vehicle.

Police believe the 35-year-old woman and 19-year-old man may be responsible for at least 15 thefts in the area.

It includes thefts from sheds.

“It appears that is what they were doing, was going down the street, checking car doors. If they were open, they were going to take something out of the car. Same thing goes for a detached garage, a storage, something like that,” said Lt. Dave Mattingly, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department.

All three suspects were interviewed by investigators, and the car was impounded.
