Police arrest two teens for credit union robbery

UPDATE: Wichita police reported Friday that they have arrested a 15-year-old and 18-year-old in connection with Thursday’s robbery of the VA Credit Union.

The following is from Thursday’s report of the robbery

WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police are investigating a robbery at the VA Credit Union.

It happened around 3:30 Wednesday in the 800 block of South Oliver.

A man armed with a black semi-automatic handgun gave a teller a brown, plastic bag and told her to put money in it.

After he got some cash, he ran out of the building. There were no injuries.

Witnesses say the robber may have gotten into a white or silver Chevy four door.

Police say the thief was a black male, 5’11” to 6′, skinny, wearing a navy blue hoodie, a blue bandanna over his face,  running pants with a white stripe on the side, and black sport gloves.

The car he may have gotten into had a partial tag number of 547. It was driven by a white male, possibly wearing a blue dress shirt.
