WICHITA, Kansas– A friend of  Sam Brownback’s since the governor was a senator, Congressman Paul Ryan headlined fundraisers Wednesday to benefit Brownback’s 2014 re-election campaign and the Kansas Republican Party.

“Paul is a pro-growth Republican, and his ideas are about how we get things growing, jobs,” said Brownback.  “It’s easier if the federal government would go along with it, instead of having all these policies that are anti growth.”

Ryan says Brownback’s policies here in Kansas should serve as a role model in Washington.

“They’re putting policies together here in Kansas that are getting people back to work, that are renewing the tax system,” said Ryan.  “They’re reform.  That’s not what’s happening in Washington.”

After the fundraiser at the Wichita Petroleum Club, Ryan attended a benefit at a  home in Mission Hills.

Brownback’s only opponent at this point is Kansas House Minority Leader, Paul Davis of Lawrence.
