Sept. 24 – 25. ALL DAY. ASTRO CONFERENCE — More than 11,000 attendees are expected at the American Society for Radiation Oncology conference in Atlanta. Attendees will include oncologists from all disciplines, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, biologists, physician assistants, practice administrators, industry representatives and other healthcare professionals.

Sept. 24. 7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. CRIME IS TOAST BREAKFAST-ATLANTA — The annual Crime is Toast breakfast is the platform where Mayor Kasim Reed presents his vision for public safety on the State of Public Safety address. Sept. 24. 1 p.m. FINANCIAL EXPLOITATION CALL — Officials from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other federal financial regulators will hold a press call to discuss new guidance on protecting older adults from financial exploitation. The call will begin with on-the-record remarks from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau s Director Richard Cordray, Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry, National Credit Union Administration Chairman Debbie Matz, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau s Assistant Director for the Office of Older Americans Nora Eisenhower. The remarks will be followed by an opportunity to ask questions on background with senior officials. Materials will be released to press before the call.

Sept. 24. 6:30 p.m. PERSONAL FINANCE CLASS — The Georgia State University College of Law s Bankruptcy Assistance and Practice Program will hold a free community education class at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Room 140, Urban Life Building, 140 Decatur St. The bankruptcy program serves individuals and families struggling with debt, while giving students the opportunity to develop practical skills.
