UNMC set for yearly dental-history display

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The University of Nebraska Medical Center is reopening its annual display of dental artifacts.

The College of Dentistry will offer public tours of the display in Lincoln from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5. The free display features a collection of dental tools and equipment that shows how the profession has evolved.

The display’s curator, Dr. Stan Harn, says the collection dates from the 1850s to the present. Harn, an oral biology professor, has been building the collection since 1977.

The collection will be displayed in Room 1431 at the university’s East Campus College of Dentistry building in Lincoln.
