GARDEN CITY, Kansas – Highways shut down by a dust storm Monday afternoon are now open again.

The Kansas Department of Transportation  closed U.S. 83 from the U.S. 83/U.S. 83 Business junction south of Garden City to the junction of U.S. 83, U.S. 160 and K 144 in Haskell County due to a multiple vehicle crash about seven miles south of Garden City.

Visibility was reduced due to high winds and blowing dirt.

I-70 also closed from Burlington, Kansas, to Limon, Colorado, until winds subsided.
