ATLANTA, Georgia (NBC News) – There’s an all-points bulletin and Amber Alert in suburban Atlanta after a home invasion in the middle of the night turned into a kidnapping of a 14-year-old girl.

Police in Clayton County Georgia are desperately searching for 14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez.

She’s a victim, they say, of a home invasion that turned into a kidnapping.

“We do believe the young lady is in harm’s way. We are actively and diligently investigating this situation to make sure she is returned safely,” said Clayton County Police Lieutenant Marc Richards.

Two home invaders burst into the suburban Atlanta home of the 14 year old shortly after two Tuesday morning.

Police say they demanded money and jewelry from the girl’s mother.

When she didn’t deliver, they shot the dog and kidnapped the teen girl.

“They possibly fled in a vehicle perhaps a gray Chevy Impala or a gray or dark blue Dodge,” Richards said.

Ayvani Hope Perez is 4 feet, 9 inches tall and 93 pounds.

She was still in her pajamas when abducted.

“I’ve prayed for the safe return of this child because it shouldn’t happen,” said a neighbor.

Police say the two men who kidnapped Ayvani are believed to be armed and definitely dangerous.
