WICHITA, Kansas – A Wichita man was arrested early Sunday morning after police received a call saying there were three small children walking in the street.

Just after 1:30 a.m., a witness says she saw the three children, who police say are ages 3, 4, and 5, walk up to a house on West 23rd Street North and knock on the door. A man answered the door and let the children inside.

When officers arrived at the house, they say the man appeared intoxicated and could not answer questions about where the kids were.

Police eventually figured out that the children’s mother left them with the man before she went to work. The kids’ aunt came and took them to her house.

The man was arrested for aggravated child endangerment.
