SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Officials at John Brown University say they’re taking the next steps in creating a nursing program.
The Arkansas State Board of Nursing has approved the nursing program at the university in Siloam Springs.
JBU will now advertise the nursing program, begin recruiting pre-nursing students, hire a nursing director and begin planning the curriculum and establishing affiliation agreements with clinical agencies.
The pre-nursing curriculum usually takes two years to complete and is required before a student could be admitted into a nursing program as a junior. JBU could begin admitting students into the nursing program as early as the fall 2016 semester.
