WICHITA, Kansas – – The Wichita Wingnuts evened the American Association Championship Series with a 6 to 4 win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats Wednesday night.

Wichita led 4 to 2 going to the bottom of the ninth. Gary was downed to its final out when the RailCats tied the contest at 4-all.

In the top of the tenth, Brent Clevlen doubled to right center scoring Jake Kahaulelio with the go-ahead run and Cole Armstrong’s sacrifice fly gave the Wingnuts an insurance run.

Josh Dew picked up the win in relief, while Erik Lambe earned his first career save.

The championship series will end in Wichita. Game three is Friday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium. First pitch is 7:05 p.m.

Game four will be Saturday with the fifth and deciding game (if necessary) scheduled for Sunday.
