ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A judge has ruled that an American man suspected of killing four extended family members in the Czech Republic can be extradited.
Kevin Dahlgren’s defense said Thursday that he would appeal. Dahlgren was detained in May at Washington Dulles International Airport, as he returned to the United States.
Czech authorities suspect the 20-year-old California native fatally stabbed his aunt, uncle and two cousins in the city of Brno during his stay in May. Citing the Czech police investigation, a federal complaint seeking Dahlgren’s arrest said the victims had been stabbed in the head and neck, and it appears that Dahlgren tried to burn three of the bodies in the basement.
If tried and convicted in the Czech Republic of committing four murders, Dahlgren would face up to life in prison.
