WICHITA, Kansas – Kansas State basketball fans can get a jump on the upcoming season and purchase tickets for this year’s highly anticipated matchup against the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the second iteration of the Wichita Wildcat Classic beginning Friday, Sept. 13.
Tickets for the Dec. 21 game go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday and start at just $12.
Kansas State finished the 2012-13 season with a 14-4 conference record (27-8 overall) en route to winning the Big 12 regular season championship and earning a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The 14 conference wins tied the school record for most in a season, while the 27 total wins were good for second-most in school history. For his efforts, head coach Bruce Weber was named Big 12 Coach of the Year.
Gonzaga’s string of success under head coach Mark Few reached new heights in 2012-13, as the Bulldogs won the West Coast Conference with a school-best 32-3 record and finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the country and earning a top seed in the NCAA Tournament before falling to Wichita State during the Shockers improbable run to the Final Four.
The game will be just the fourth meeting all-time between the two teams, with Kansas State holding a 2-1 series advantage.
This year’s Wichita Wildcat Classic tips off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPN2.
