New deputy at Nevada behavioral health

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Ellen Richardson-Adams has been promoted to deputy administrator of clinic services for the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health.

In her new role, Richardson-Adams will have direct oversight of the state’s psychiatric hospitals that fall under the southern and northern Nevada adult mental health services, as well as Lake’s Crossing and rural services.

The psychiatric hospitals are under federal investigation for alleged deficiencies of federal regulations. Lake’s Crossing is a mental hospital in Sparks that serves people who are in law enforcement or judicial custody.

The deputy administrator is a new position. The appointment was announced Monday by Division Administrator Richard Whitley.
