4 state universities in 2nd organ donor challenge

FLOWOOD, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency is kicking off its second competition among state universities to sign up the most organ and tissue donors.

The Clarion-Ledger (http://on.thec-l.com/15JKK0z ) reports that an 11:30 a.m. tailgate party Friday at the agency’s office in Flowood will open the 2013 Donor Challenge.

Last year, Mississippi State and the University of Southern Mississippi competed, signing up nearly 300 people. The agency says USM won, signing up up more than 68 percent of the donors.

This year, USM is challenging the University of Mississippi, with Jackson State University and Alcorn State University making up a second challenge.
