NY man charged with taking child’s medication

STILLWATER, N.Y. (AP) — A Saratoga County man faces charges after police say he took a child’s Ritalin pills himself, causing medical problems for the child.

Police in the town of Stillwater charged 34-year-old Joshua Coons with endangering the welfare of an incompetent of physically disabled person. Police say Coons is accused of withholding the drug over a period of time from a child under 10 years old when he was caring for the child. The child ended up needing emergency medical treatment.

Local media outlets report that Coons was arraigned in town court on Saturday and sent to Saratoga County Jail on $10,000 bail.
