Breast cancer survivors being honored at track

FRANKLIN, Ky. (AP) — Breast cancer survivors will be celebrated during a trip to Kentucky Downs’ Winners Circle Saturday afternoon in Franklin.

WBKO-TV ( ) says the honorees will meet with representatives of the First Lady’s Pink Stable Committee and the Kentucky Cancer Program for the Horses and Hope race.

Horses and Hope is a project of Kentucky first lady Jane Beshear, the Kentucky Cancer Program and the Pink Stable, a committee of Kentucky horse owners, trainers, stable owners, jockeys, race track representatives and others.

The Kentucky Cancer Program is administered by the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky with the mission of reducing cancer incidence and mortality through education, research and service.

The Horses and Hope pink mustang will be displayed near Kentucky Downs’ front entrance for Saturday’s event.
