HAYSVILLE, Kansas – Numerous fire crews responded to an apartment fire in Haysville Thursday afternoon.

It happend at the Sarah Lane Apartments.

Wichita, Sedgwick, and McConnell Fire Departments arrived on the scene to smoke coming from the second floor.

They were able to get the fire under control quickly.

Firefighters and maintenance workers at the apartment went door to door to make sure all the residents made it out.

They also had to force entry into some apartments.

“To my knowledge, no one was hurt, but anytime that someone is not hurt you have to feel lucky. We go out before anything happened,” said Michael Willey, apartment resident.

The fire was contained to the kitchen area of one apartment.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
