GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – -The Wichita Wingnuts needed extra innings in 2 to 0 12-inning shutout of the Grand Prairie AirHogs in the first game of the American Association Division Series Wednesday night.

With the bases loaded in the top of the 12th, Johnny Bowden drew a walk to score John Rodriguez. David Amberson drove in the game’s second run with an RBI single through the left side.

Josh Dew pitched a perfect bottom of the 12th for the save. Lincoln Holdzkom got the win as Wichita’s fifth pitcher of the night.

Game two of the best-of-five series takes place Thursday night in Grand Prairie.

Grand Prairie will meet Wichita at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita starting Friday night for the rest of games of the series.
