WICHITA, Kansas — A Clearwater man is in critical condition after a car accident shut down Zoo Boulevard near the I-235 interchange early Wednesday morning.

Thirty one-year-old Robert Nickelson was traveling westbound on Zoo Boulevard when his car went off a bridge and crashed into a fence and wall.

Nickelson had to be cut free from the car by fire and EMS crews.

He was then taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.

Officers were on scene for hours trying to determine was caused the crash.

They say speed and alcohol could have been a factor.
