JACKSON, Mississippi (WLBT) – Alligator hunters in Mississippi are setting some records while hauling in some giants.

Two large alligator were caught Sunday morning.

The first beast measured 13′ and 5 inches and weighed 723 pounds.

The oversized reptile was captured in the early morning hours in Issaquenna County in the Yazoo Diversion Canal north of Redwood, MS

The second, and larger alligator was 13 feet 4.5 inches and weighed 727.0 pounds.

It was caught about an hour after the first one in the Mississippi River near the Big Black River in Claiborne County.

We are told that this alligator is now the current weight record holder for a Mississippi hunter an a state hunting season.
