CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (AP) — There is now room for 9,000 more patients at the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune.
The Daily News of Jacksonville reports (http://bit.ly/1fqhpXE ) that the hospital is now seeing patients in its newest wing, providing services including family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics.
Base officials say the expansion may mean a change in providers for some patients who currently receive care from the civilian sector.
People who see civilian providers will be getting letters directing them to the Naval Hospital for future care. Requests to opt out will be reviewed individually.
