Autistic teen’s body pulled from Portsmouth creek

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) — The body of a 15-year-old boy has been pulled from a Portsmouth creek.

Relatives tell WAVY-TV (http://bit.ly/19NnqAe) that Gary Faulkner had autism.

The boy’s grandmother, Sherri Faulkner, says the teenager and two younger cousins had been playing on a trestle bridge. The teen went into the water about 2:10 p.m. Thursday.

Norfolk divers found the boy’s body in Baines Creek near the bridge about four hours later.

The body will be taken to a medical examiner’s office.
