One killed in crash in Elk County

ELK COUNTY, Kansas – A 33-year-old Newburg, Missouri man was killed Tuesday night in an accident in Elk County

It happened a mile south of Severy.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1994 Maxima driven by 33-year-old Joseph Brant Martin was northbound on County Road 18.

Martin lost control, entered the ditch, and struck a tree.

He died at the scene.

Two passengers, 31-year-old Annette Michaela Shockley of Newburg, Missouri and 35-year-old Justin E.
