Rabid raccoon reported in Henrico County

HENRICO, Va. (AP) — A dog is in quarantine in Henrico County after it encountered an injured raccoon that was rabid.

Henrico County police says the raccoon was reported Friday in a yard. The raccoon was captured and later tested positive for rabies.

The dog has a current rabies vaccination and will be in quarantine for 45 days.

Police say no other animals or humans were exposed.
