DERBY, Kansas – Authorities in Derby responded to an accidental shooting Monday.
It happened in the 1000 block of North Georgie just after 11 a.m.
Police say a 46-year-old man was transported to the hospital in critical condition after he thought he was handling an unloaded gun and pulled the trigger shooting himself in the abdomen.
Although there were several people in the house at the time, he was the only one injured.
