WICHITA, Kansas – A shooting in downtown Wichita early Friday morning left a 34-year-old man in serious condition.

It happened at the Commodore Apartments at Elm and Broadway just after 1:45 a.m.

Police say a 34-year-old man, who was drinking, got into an argument with a 51-year-old man in the hallway.

Police say a 42-year-old woman handed a gun to the 51-year-old.

The 51-year-old allegedly shot the man.

He was taken to Via Christi on St. Francis.

Police took the 51-year-old man and 42-year-old woman in for questioning.

“At this point, we don’t know if the weapon was theirs or where she got the weapon from, and that’ll be part of the investigation,” said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

No arrests have been made.

Investigators plan on talking to the shooting victim.

They will then present their findings to the District Attorney to see if charges will be filed.
