WICHITA, Kansas — More than 150 homes have been hit by thieves targeting mail boxes and vehicles, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department.

Stolen credit cards, checks, and social security cards were all found during the search of a 23-year-old Wichita woman’s home on Friday, and now sheriff’s deputies are launching an investigation that they expect will lead to several arrests.

The woman is now under arrest on unrelated charges as detectives investigate.

The sheriff’s department is reaching out to Wichita police since most of the cases are within the city limits, east of Rock between 13th and Kellogg. But stolen mail from across the county was also found in the home.

Officials are urging all county residents to check their bank and credit card statements.
