WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Officials say the death of a 16-year-old boy who fell from an all-terrain vehicle in West Valley City was due to a pre-existing medical condition.
Utah Department of Transportation spokesman John Gleason says the teenager was test-driving the vehicle with his father in a UDOT parking lot Saturday afternoon.
The boy’s father, a maintenance worker, was turning the vehicle when the boy slumped over and fell out, hitting the pavement.
Gleason says the boy’s death was caused by the medical condition, not the fall.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/161beHd ) the boy’s identity has not been released.
West Valley Police are investigating the accident.
