WICHITA, Kansas — Fire Rescue crews found the body of the 14-year-old boy who slipped under the water while swimming with friends in the Big Ditch Friday afternoon.

Around 10 a.m. this morning authorities discovered the body in the brush approximately 200 yards south of where the three teens were swimming, near 13th and Zoo Boulevard.

The body was found in an area that is normally above ground, but has been underwater because of the recent flooding in the area.

The family has been notified and said they are grateful for the response of emergency crews.
