BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — A week after his home burned, a Biloxi child is recovering from a broken ankle suffered when his bicycle collided with a car.
Police aren’t identifying the boy because he’s a minor. He’s one of seven children being raised by their grandmother, whose home burned six days before the accident.
Anita Seymour tells WLOX-TV (http://bit.ly/13rwbYM ) that the boy was taken to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans with a broken ankle.
She says she and her grandson had gone to clean out their house.
Biloxi police Sgt. John Campbell tells the Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/16HUXI5 ) that the driver was going about 5 mph when the boy rode out from behind a parked SUV and collided with the car.
Seymour has been raising her grandchildren for eight years. Her husband died in February.
