POMONA, New York — The Wichita Wingnuts power their way to a 9 to 6 win over the Rockland Boulders Wednesday night.
The Wingnuts broke three home run records in the victory.
C.J. Ziegler launched his 22nd homer of the season which sets a franchise record.
The Wingnuts hit six home runs in the game also a team record.
Wichita has hit 88 homers this year which in two more the previous best in 2009.
Besides Ziegler, John Rodriguez, Cole Armstrong, Abel Nieves and two home runs from Brent Clevlen all hit balls that left the park.
Wingnuts starter Justin Klipp earned the victory striking out four and walking two. In his last 11 starts this year Klipp has allowed zero or one walk.
Wichita moves to New Jersey to close out the 16-game road adventure. The Wingnuts start a series against the New Jersey Jackals starting Friday night at Yogi Berra Stadium.
Wichita returns home Tuesday after the NBC World Series.
