HAYS, Kansas – The location for the 2015 Shrine Bowl was announced Wednesday with Hays winning the bid over Wichita.

The Shrine Bowl is an annual game featuring the best high school football players from the east and west sides of Kansas and is used to raise money for the 25 Shrine Hospitals in the area.

City officials in Hays are excited to be hosting the bowl again.

“It helps the community come together as a whole, and of course we also get to sell hotel rooms which of course helps the economy in our community as well,” said Janet Kuhn, Hays Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.

Officials are hoping that the 2015 Shrine Bowl will be as successful as it has been in the past.
