WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita fire crews responded to the Equity Bank Building at Kellogg and Rock Road Tuesday morning.
When crews arrived, they found a strong odor described as an electrical odor.
“As crews advanced up, they started to encounter light haze on seven and fairly significant smoke on the floor,” said Battalion Chief Tom Carney, Wichita Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to track the smell to a small fire in an electrical box on the eighth floor.
Crews shut down the electricity on that floor and aired out the building before occupants could return.
