7 p.m. JAZZ MUSICIAN DOCUMENTARY — Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia presents free screenings of a new 25-minute documentary about 20th-century jazz composer and saxophone player John Coltrane, titled “Coltrane’s Philadelphia,” on Wednesday, Aug. 7, and Thursday, Sept. 19.

Note: Wednesday’s screening will be followed by a question-and-answer session with members of the film’s production team including a musician and former columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, Tom Moon, as well as a screening of the hour-long 1980 documentary “Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise.”
