Wingnuts win fifth in a row

POMONA, New York – – The Wichita Wingnuts won the series opener over the Rockland Boulders 4 to 1 Monday night.

It was the fifth straight victory for the Wingnuts.

Anthony Capra and three Wichita relivers combined on a five-hitter. Capra earned the win struck out seven and walked three. Capra gave a run on three its in six innings of work.

C.J. Ziegler doubled scored John Rodriguez which gave the Wingnuts a 2 to 1 lead. Cole Armstrong doubled home Ziegler later in the inning.

Josh Dew picked up his 18th save this season.

The teams play game two of series Tuesday morning. Wichita comes home August 13th after the NBC World Series.
