Inmate from Hutchinson Correction Facility apprehended

HUTCHINSON, Kansas – An inmate who escaped from the Hutchinson Correction Facility has been apprehended in Topeka.

Mark Edward Lucas went missing from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility on Saturday.

He surrendered at 8:15 Tuesday.

Lucas had contacted the Kansas Department of Corrections and law enforcement to make arrangements to surrender to DOC Special Agents.

After surrendering, Lucas was taken to the Shawnee County Detention Facility where he will be held until he is returned to the Hutchinson Correctional Facility
